Poker has become globally acclaimed recently, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little conniving or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the dealer declares "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course every one of the different players receive 5 cards. Once you have observed your hand and the bank’s first card, you have to either make a call wager or accede. The call bet’s amount is equal to your original ante, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantly to the house. After the bet comes the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, with an amount equal to the original bet. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The dealer pays money even with your original bet and fixed expectations on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
