Online poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many types on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the dealer rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little concealment or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the dealer saying "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the other gamblers receive five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you need to either make a call wager or give up. The call bet’s value is equal to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes directly to the dealer. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with a sum equal to the ante. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The dealer pays chips equal to your ante and controlled odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
