For a game where the majority of players occasionally consider fortune, there are lots of superstitions in poker. When you mention that a player was lucky in that poker tournament they won, be careful of how you mention it. For example, if you mention that you were unlucky, your chances may never change.
Ok, that may appear to be a bit strange, but poker is a casino game armed with superstitions. Did you realize that if you are betting a game with 2 different decks and you are asked to pick the deck, you should always select the deck that’s furthest from you? Or, how about If you have a streak of terrible cards, you have to settle on a hankerchief to break your terrible luck? It’s actually considered good luck to blow through a pack of cards while they are being shuffled.
Some other fascinating poker folklores are:
- You might be able to alter the run of cards by going around your chair three times.
- The luckiest chair at the poker table looks at the entry.
- The unluckiest chair has its rear to a fireplace.
- When altering seats, you need to always do so clockwise.
- The worst poker card is the four of clubs.
- It is most unfortunate to cross your legs when sitting at the poker table.
- Monday is a horrible day for wagering on cards.
- The thirteenth is also a bad day, no matter what day of the week it is.
