Poker has become world acclaimed recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years numerous types on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank rather than each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer announcing "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers are given 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s first card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s amount is akin to your original bet, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the bet comes the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, plus a figure equal to the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The dealer pays chips equal to your ante and controlled expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
