Online poker has become globally famous lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous types on the earliest poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the dealer rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up before the croupier announcing "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers are given 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning wager, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes directly to the dealer. After the wager comes the face off. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, plus a sum on par with the original wager. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pony’s up chips even with your bet and fixed expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
