Internet poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years numerous variations on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to vingt-et-un than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No more bets." At that point, both you and the bank and of course all of the different gamblers receive five cards. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original wager, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your bet goes immediately to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including a sum in accordance with the initial wager. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The bank pays out money even with your original bet and set odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
